Our Commitment to Privacy and Security
TLDR: At Garnit, our concern for your privacy is fundamental to our mission. We do not access anything outside of promotional emails, and we do not have the ability to delete, modify, or send any email on your behalf. We're here to help you get the most out of your promotional emails, not mine them for data.
What We Access & Why
- We only access your promo emails, and nothing else. Garnit analyzes emails under your Gmail's "Promotions" tab to find useful deals and promo codes. We extract only relevant metadata like merchant names, dates, and codes.
What Don't Do
- We do not read or access any of your emails that are not tagged as promotions.
- We do not have the ability to manipulate any email, and we will never request this scope.
- We do not store full emails or attachments. Only deal-relevant info is stored, and nothing is sold or handed off.
- We don't sell your data, ever.
Safe & Secure Email Access
Garnit uses OAuth2, the secure protocol provided by Google. You can grant and revoke access at any time. Your tokens are encrypted and only used to perform operations related to our features. Access tokens will never be shared with any third party. We do not have access to your Gmail password.

Security-First Infrastructure
We use OpenAI for content analysis and Supabase for secure data storage. Both are industry-trusted partners with strong data protection standards.

- Garnit currently supports Gmail. We're exploring support for other inboxes in the future.
- Does Garnit read my emails?
- Only the emails in your Gmail Promotions tab are scanned — and only to extract deal-relevant info like brand names, dates, and discount codes.
- Do I need to enable the Promotions category?
- Yes — this ensures that Garnit only scans your promotional emails, keeping everything else untouched.
- Can I remove my data or revoke access?
- Yes. You can revoke access at any time and request full data deletion.
- Is my data secure?
- We use OAuth2 for Gmail access, encrypt all tokens, and never store full email content. Only minimal metadata is kept.
