We recognize the sensitivity of email access and are deeply committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. The following Privacy Policy is intended to explain how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our deal-finding service. By registering for Garnit's services, you acknowledge that you accept the practices and requirements outlined in this Policy, and you hereby consent that we will collect, use, and share your information in the following ways.

Information Collected

We collect certain information in order to facilitate your use of Garnit's services. When you register with Garnit, you will have the opportunity to provide us with some information directly. For example, our services require access to your Gmail account, name, and your time zone to identify and share deals and shopping-related content. When you use our services, we automatically scan the subjects and contents of your emails under the “Promotions” tab to identify and record purchases, receipts, and promotional offers. We only process emails categorized under the “Promotions” tab in your email. We store information that is relevant to identifying and tracking deals, including the following:

  • Merchant names
  • Purchase dates
  • Product descriptions
  • Price information
  • Promotional codes
  • Order confirmation numbers

We permit third parties to collect information directly for the purpose of data analytics and advertising.

Use of Collected Information

We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us to develop and maintain Garnit's services, comply with legal obligations, improve our deal detection algorithms, and for any other lawful purpose provided that you offer your consent. We do not use Google Workspace APIs to develop, improve, or train generalized AI and/or ML models. We may communicate with you via email or in-app Notification to verify your account, notify you about deals, inform you of changes to our policies and procedures, or otherwise facilitate the operation of Garnit's services.

Disclosure of Information

We may share information that we've collected from you, with your consent, with third parties for business purposes. These third parties include but are not limited to OpenAI and Supabase.

We also may share information that we've collected from you when required by law, subpoena, or other legal or regulatory requirement, or if we have a good faith belief that disclosure is necessary to keep you, us, or others safe.

We do not sell your personal information.

Data Security and Storage

We use OpenAI to analyze content and SupaBase to store data. Both OpenAI and Supabase have implemented measures designed to protect your personal information from loss, unauthorized access, and alteration.

The safety and security of your information also depends on you, such as your responsibility to keep your Gmail account password confidential.

Access to and Modification/Deletion of Information

As a Garnit user, you may:

  • Revoke Garnit's access to your email, which will prevent Garnit from processing any additional emails and which will delete your name, email address, Gmail token, and personal email data from Garnit's databases
  • Request deletion of your data from Garnit, which may mean you are unable to utilize Garnit
  • Opt out of all communications
  • Export your data

Age of Users

We do not knowingly collect any data of users under the age of 13. If we are made aware that we have collected the data of users under the age of 13, we will delete that information in accordance with applicable law.

Changes to the Policy

Any changes to this privacy policy will be posted. If we make material changes to how we treat our user's personal information, we will:

  • Notify you by email
  • Notify you through a notice on Garnit's home page

The date the privacy policy was last revised is identified at the beginning of this policy. You are responsible for ensuring we have an up-to-date, active and deliverable email address for you.
